The only thing I didn't quite like are the testimonies from people through the book. It annoys me a lot when there are testimonies like "I went from a size 2 to a size 0! I mean, I get that they're all excited, and they did loose weight, but personally, I'm more inspired and more likely to try a diet if the amount of weight lost is larger. I probably would have picked better testimonies in general, but I did like the fact that there were testimonies to begin with. I would definitely recommend this to anyone who is trying to shed a few pounds, or is just more curious about nutrition, and eating healthier!

So I actually finished reading this book a few weeks ago, but wanted to wait until I'd finished the 30 day plan to review it. My personal results: as a 5'6" woman who started at lbs, I lost about 5 lbs by the end of the 30 days. Which is nothing to sneeze at, considering it's taken me upwards of two years to lose 30 lbs.

Comparably, 5 lbs in a month is a good rate for me. The real content of So I actually finished reading this book a few weeks ago, but wanted to wait until I'd finished the 30 day plan to review it. I personally didn't read many if any of the sidebars or personal success stories - they weren't necessary and I was trying to get through the book quickly.

My biggest complaint about the book itself is that she used the phrase "Studies show" or "Studies have proven" or some variation of that way too frequently.

It got the point that any time she mentioned a study, I would skip to the end of a paragraph just to see what the conclusion was. The actual core food plan is good. If you take the time to read the book, her puzzle pieces are so simple to understand and follow. We started out using a few recipes, and over time, we adapted them more to our liking and budget and even got a little creative and put together our own meals.

Everything we drink is zero calorie, so it really shouldn't make a difference. While I vaguely understood why she had this rule, I didn't like it and will not continue following it. The schedule - Her rule is eat within an hour of waking up, and then every hours after that. But it wasn't totally realistic for us. For example, I get up at and leave for work at I'm not going to get up 30 minutes earlier to give myself time to eat.

So sticking to her exact plan was hard, and I didn't do it perfectly. I tried my best, but I ended up eating around am, pm, 7 pm, and pm. Strictness - We are humans and we need a cheat meal, and this plan didn't have that. We built our own in - we went out for froyo once a week, enjoyed it immensely, and ate perfectly otherwise.

That probably affected our results, but it kept us happy, so we had no guilt about it. I also noticed that my body readjusted after that better than it used to it used to take me days to recover, while on this plan, it only took days. Finally, do not do this plan if you are not planning on eating entirely at home for the whole 30 days. It is nearly impossible to go out to a restaurant and stick to this plan. It also forces you to pack your own meals. I go to a group dinner every Thursday that's a pitch-in, and I always had to pack my own dinner.

It's very difficult nearly impossible to follow this plan if you're going to be at the mercy of someone else preparing your food. Overall, not a terrible plan.

We ate healthy before doing this, but learned that the composition of our meals was wrong - we weren't eating enough grains or fats. We'll continue following it for the most part, but we'll getting rid of her artificial sweetener rules, and we're also going to continue having one cheat meal into our week because we need to stay sane. The variations on the meal plans are really encouraging.

You really have no excuse to not stick to the plan and the food really tastes not only good but is satisfying too!! The pounds really do start to come off. I really loved this book! Its not only filled with how to do Sass's 30 day plan, but also contains tons of tips on nutrition in general.

I think that was my favorite part about this book. I also really loved how the book didn't just say "eat this" or "don't eat that" but it actually explained pretty in depth on why you shouldn't eat certain things, or why certain things are not included in the diet.
